The Municipality of Stirling-Rawdon offers quiet, safe living, with an idyllic country village lifestyle. It is a lifestyle that is based on family and traditional life values.
We are proud of our 12-man police force and volunteer fire department. Our Stirling Theatre is a very vibrant part of our community and is attached to our Carnegie Library, which underwent major renovations and upgrades in 1987. Our countryside shows the pride and care that our strong agricultural sector generates into our local economy. There are at least 7 religious denominations that are served in our immediate area. As well, our children are served with schooling up to the completion of the elementary grades in Stirling. There is transportation to Bayside High School after Senior School. For our Separate School supporters, there are excellent schools offered in Belleville with a new school being built approximately 3 years ago and a new high school this last year.
We have a very strong commitment to sports in our area, with an excellent arena and curling facility as well as 2 ball diamonds. The local soccer association has taken on a very ambitious project at the fair grounds and built 5 tournament quality soccer pitches.
I must mention our fall fair, held mid-august each year. This is an excellent quality event you don’t want to miss! We are also extremely proud of our museum, which is gaining momentum and fast becoming one of the best museums in Eastern Ontario. As well, there are excellent service clubs which have served our community over the years; the Lions and Lionesses, the Legion, the Rotary, the AOTS Men’s’ Club, the St. John’s Men’s’ Club and several lodges, all made up of volunteers who help promote our community and make it a better place to live. Scouting and Guiding have been a proud part of our community for years. As well, there are several local artists, artisans and craftsmen. Their presence contributes a unique charm to our area.
We have a very diversified shopping district, in our Village, which caters to the needs of its clientele. You will find the business folk and staff very friendly and accommodating. We also have our own dentist and doctor’s office, which is served by three doctors. Belleville hospital is only 20 minutes away.
If you just want to get away from it all, why not go for a swim at Anderson’s Bride, or pack a lunch and visit the Kings Mill Conservation Area. Maybe you should try a canoe ride up Rawdon or Squires Creek.
When someone is looking to move to our area, the REALTOR is usually the first contact. I know I can offer good quality living at competitive prices. I also believe strongly in what our community has to offer a newcomer to our area. I am proud of our community and the services we provide.
